On May 28, 2025 year, as part of the implementation of the global action plan of the World Health Organization (WHO) “Rehabilitation – 2030”, aimed at integrating rehabilitation services into the national health systems of the “NCCR”, an international scientific and practical conference “Innovative approaches to the rehabilitation of children: from technology to results” was held.

The conference program included 5 scientific sections and a plenary session, total were 35 reports, covering the themes of a multidisciplinary approach, neurorehabilitation, robotic technologies, psychological and pedagogical correction and other relevant areas.

The theme of the sections covered key areas in modern child rehabilitation:

1. Plenary session: “International experience in comprehensive rehabilitation care”
2. Section “Multidisciplinary approach in early comprehensive rehabilitation”
3. Section “Robotic technologies and opportunities for physical Medicine and rehabilitation”
4. Section “Comprehensive neurorehabilitation: interdisciplinary approach”
5. Section “Fundamental research”
6. Section “Psychological and pedagogical correction and social adaptation of children: the experience of the center “Asyl Miras”

The conference was attended by 518 specialists from 15 regions of Kazakhstan and foreign countries, including:

• 418 participants – offline
• 100 participants – online

The honorary guests of the conference were foreign experts from Australia, India, Italy, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, France and the Philippines, as well as representatives of WHO and UNICEF. Online reports of experts from Belarus, Turkey and the WHO Regional Office for Europe were heard.

Particular attention was paid to the practical part - on May 29, 11 master classes were held, in which 335 students took part. The master classes were hosted by both international and Kazakhstani experts, including:

1. New technologies and innovations in neurorehabilitation;
2. The use of the robowalk® rehabilitation system expander in locomotor therapy;
3. Application of the biofeedback method in medical, correctional rehabilitation;
4. The concept of postural management. Basic rules for selection of assistive devices;
5. Early diagnosis of neurodevelopmental difficulties. Rating scales;
6. Fundamental skills in the G.A.M.E. therapy approach: best practice in early intervention;
7. Creating gameplay with a different game in ESDM. Learning by playing;
8. Clinical application of TCM techniques in autism spectrum disorders. Traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of gastrointestinal tract at children;
9. Management of dysphagia (swallowing disorders);
10. Ketogenic diet in the rehabilitation of neurological and other diseases;
11. “Help to the helpful persons”

As the result of the event, all participants and speakers received certificates. The conference proved the importance of moving from a traditional model to an innovative rehabilitation system in which technology serves the result of improving the quality of life of the child and his family. Participants call for further strengthening of partnerships, development of human resources, infrastructure and the creation of a new technological ecosystem in the child rehabilitation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
