Pursuant to Resolution No. 3 of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor dated February 19, 2026, on the implementation of sanitary and anti-epidemic (preventive) measures, planned hospitalization of children in pediatric inpatient facilities is permitted only if the child has been vaccinated against measles.
1. The preventive measles vaccination must be administered at least 21 days prior to the planned date of hospitalization.
2. If the child was previously vaccinated against measles in accordance with the National Immunization Schedule, re-vaccination is not required. A document confirming measles vaccination must be provided, or a copy of the vaccination passport printed from the eGov system with a QR code.
3. If the child has an officially documented medical contraindication to vaccination (medical exemption), an extract from the child's outpatient medical record confirming the contraindication must be provided. This document must be signed and stamped by the attending primary care physician, the head of the clinic/polyclinic, and a rehabilitation physician.
4. Vaccination of the accompanying caregiver is not required. Under the Resolution, this requirement applies strictly to children and medical staff.
5. If the child has previously had measles, an excerpt from their outpatient medical record issued by their attending primary care physician confirming the past infection must be submitted.
These requirements have been introduced to ensure the safety of children, parents, and healthcare professionals at the Center.
