Abstract
This review presents an analysis of the main aspects related to the diagnosis and treatment of acute arterial stroke in children. Acute ischemic stroke is a rare but critical emergency in the pediatric population. The treatment of ischemic stroke in childhood is often a complex task due to the pleomorphic nature of age-specific risk factors and etiology, the high frequency of subtle or atypical clinical presentations, and the lack of evidence-based data on acute recanalization.
