Аbstract

Objective: identification of existing problems and preferences in ways of communication among the youth of Kazakhstan.

Methods: 1). theoretical methods: analysis of philosophical, psychological and pedagogical, scientific and methodological literature on the problem under study for the period 2011-2021 according to the Google Scholar and PubMed; 2) empirical methods: anonymous survey of young people aged 18-44 using the questionnaire proposed by the authors.

Results: The authors anonymously online and offline interviewed 35 people aged 18-44. The ratio of male and female was 1:4. According to the level of education, 4 people (12%) had secondary and secondary specialized education, 12 (34%) had incomplete higher education, and 19 (54%) had higher education. The largest proportion of respondents were young people aged 23-29 years (43%). Then, in decreasing order - 18-22 years old (26%), 30-35 years old (20%), 36-44 years old (11%). Among the respondents, most of all were those who communicated offline for more than 4 hours a day - 16 people. Young people who preferred direct contact and virtual communication for 2-4 hours a day were equally divided (15 people each). At the same time, in the case of communication less than 2 hours a day, virtual communication prevailed (15 people). The vast majority of respondents preferred offline communication.

Discussion. According to the review and analysis of the literature, one can be convinced that communication as one of the types of communicative activity plays a significant role in socialization and ensures the formation of self-awareness. The share of virtual communication among young people in Kazakhstan was similar to peers from Russia.

Conclusion: Online has become a necessary component of communication in general while remaining as an auxiliary option. Currently, young people in Kazakhstan are actively using the possibilities of online along with offline communication, giving preference to the latter.
